After making the perfect start to 2026 at Molineux at the weekend, Wolves will be looking to maintain their levels against Everton on Wednesday, and wolves.co.uk has looked at what to expect from the Old Gold’s first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Rob Edwards continues to be without several senior starters as he prepares his side for a midweek trip to Everton. Captain Toti and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde both remain on the sidelines due to their injuries, while Marshall Munetsi and Rodrigo Gomes are working their way back to fitness after returning to the grass, but are not ready to be part of a matchday squad. Emmanuel Agbadou is still with Ivory Coast as they face Burkina Faso in the last 16 of AFCON on Tuesday evening, but Pedro Lima adds another body to the squad after he returned from a loan spell at Porto last week. Also, Hee Chan Hwang and Joao Gomes, who both went off against West Ham with slight knocks, have trained on Tuesday and are in contention to keep their place in the starting 11.
Everton have six first-team players currently either confirmed to be out or doubts for the midweek visit of Wolves, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman all not expected to be involved on Wednesday evening due to the trio all suffering from hamstring injuries. There is uncertainty over the availability of Charly Alcaraz who has missed the Toffees’ last two outings with an undisclosed injury, and both Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye remain at AFCON after Senegal’s 3-1 last 16 victory over Sudan.

3 | Journey to Wednesday
At the 20th time of asking, Wolves are finally off the mark by claiming their first league victory of the 2025/26 Premier League season! After coming so close in recent weeks to bringing their losing streak to an end, Wolves finally got the three points which their performances deserved against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, as Edwards’ team started 2026 in the best way possible by hitting three without reply against the Hammers – earning a first clean sheet of the term in the process. The clean sheet was also only Wolves’ second of the season in all competitions, having knocked the Toffees out of the Carabao Cup earlier this campaign with a 2-0 win at Molineux.
Everton soon got over their Carabao Cup defeat to Wolves by racking up 16 points in their subsequent 10 Premier League matches, which lifted them away from trouble. However, Moyes’ men have only won one of the next five (away at Nottingham Forest to bring in 2025) and have also tasted defeat in their last two outings at the Hill Dickinson Stadium – the first time they have done so at their new ground – following a 1-0 loss to Arsenal just before Christmas and Sunday’s 4-2 reverse against Brentford. Everton last suffered three successive home league defeats in September 2023.

4 | Breaking the away Premier League duck at Everton
Wolves’ record when playing Everton at Goodison Park was one of the Old Gold’s best in the Premier League era, having claimed four victories on the road against the Toffees – only winning away more often at Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, it took Wolves until the 2018/19 season to earn a first win on the road at Everton. Following a 2-2 draw on opening day against the Toffees, Wolves earned all three points later in the campaign as they began February with a 3-1 victory to solidify a seventh-place standing in the top flight.
Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez and a first Wolves goal for Leander Dendoncker put pay to Everton and secured a third successive Premier League win for Nuno’s side.
