Wolves will take on FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening with the aim of finishing off their season as strong as possible and wolves.co.uk has looked at some of the key talking points ahead of kick-off.
1 | Roll Call
Vitor Pereira confirmed Tommy Doyle has a “small problem” ahead of the trip, but the injury isn’t feared to be overly serious. Sam Johnstone is also still sidelined with a “small issue”. Jorgen Strand Larsen was fit enough only for substitute’s appearance against Brighton & Hove Albion but will hope to be fit enough for a start. Andre hobbled off late on against the Seagulls, but the head coach confirmed post-match that there was no injury.
Crystal Palace will be without Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton, after both were checked due to concussion after Saturday’s Wembley win. Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are both absent with long-term injuries. Oliver Glasner must decide if to make changes and rest players following their FA Cup exploits at the weekend, with the likes of Will Hughes, Jefferson Lerma and Eddie Nketiah all coming off the bench at Wembley.

3 | Journey to Tuesday
Wolves are trying to get back to winning ways on Tuesday evening after experiencing two losses on the bounce following a six-game winning streak. Following victories over Southampton, West Ham United, Ipswich Town, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Leicester City, Pereira’s side have been given a reality check with successive defeats against Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion in the last two outings. However, the players will be aiming to finish the season in the best way possible and take advantage of having a weekend of graft on the training ground while Crystal Palace were preoccupied with their FA Cup final.
Crystal Palace won their first major trophy at the weekend, as Eberechi Eze scored the only goal in Saturday's FA Cup final win over Manchester City. In the Premier League Palace have gone on several unbeaten runs this season, with their most recent seeing them go four league games without defeat, although before last weekend’s 2-0 win away at Tottenham Hotspur, Palace drew their previous three outings against Bournemouth, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest. But it’s been in the FA Cup where the Eagles have been focusing in the last few months, with Saturday's win securing Europa League football next season.
4 | Doherty wins the points at Selhurst Park
Wolves have only won once away at Selhurst Park since 2018, and that was the first time the teams went head-to-head following the Old Gold’s return to the Premier League. Matt Doherty – the only player remaining from the Wolves squad from seven years ago – was the match-winner that afternoon in south London during a game of few chances. It took just one moment of quality to earn Wolves their second away win of the season with Doherty creating the goal himself, playing a quick one-two with Raul Jimenez, and lashing in at Wayne Hennessey’s near post. However, the victory didn’t come easily, and Rui Patricio was in fine form between the sticks to deny Jeffrey Schlupp on multiple occasions, but Wolves held on to the victory and extend an unbeaten run to six matches.
Palace | Hennessey, van Aanholt, Milivojevic, Tomkins, Townsend, Zaha, Sakho, Ayew (Kouyate72), Schlupp (Sorloth 82), McArthur (Meyer 63), Wan Bissaka.
Wolves | Patricio, Doherty, Bennett, Coady, Boly, Jonny, Neves, Moutinho, Costa (Saiss 84), Jota (Traore 87), Jimenez (Cavaleiro 76).
