Palmer, a boyhood Wolves supporter who first joined the club as an apprentice back in 1970 before turning professional on his 17th birthday, will be the 29th inductee to speak about his time at the club when he joins regular podcast hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.
The Cannock-born defender will delve into his 16-year stint in gold and black when he features on Wednesday night’s edition of the Old Gold Club.
The episode will be broadcast during a half hour Facebook, YouTube and Twitter video this evening at 6pm, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all other podcast apps.
Spending almost his entire career which the club he has supported since he was a boy, Palmer was at Wolves during the successful 1970s period. Although he missed out on being part of the squad which made the UEFA Cup final in 1972, he was a member of the League Cup winning side of 1973/74.
The right-back won his second League Cup medal in 1980, becoming one of just four players to feature in both of Wolves’ triumphs in the competition.
After a brief year-long spell at Burnley, Palmer returned to Wolves but could not prevent the club from dropping into the fourth tier of English footballer for the first time in history. He played just one game in the Fourth Division before retiring from football to become a police officer.
