Ally Robertson joins the Old Gold Club

Captain of the Wolves side which lifted the Sherpa Van Trophy in 1988, Ally Robertson, will be the latest former star to sit in the Old Gold Club hot seat.

Robertson will be the eighth inductee to feature on the clubs’ new podcast, with the domineering centre-half set to discuss his four-year Molineux career when he joins hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

The 66-year-old will discuss his time at Wolves during a half hour Facebook and YouTube video, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Joining the likes of Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt and David Kelly as inductees into Old Gold Club, sponsored by Wolverhampton Building Supplies, Robertson will speak about captaining the successful Wolves side of the late 80s while on the podcast.

The tough-tackling defender will relive his 130 appearances in gold and black, where he helped Wolves seal two successive promotions while under the management of Graham Turner.

The latest Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first seven episodes of the podcast with Ikeme, Hibbitt, Kelly, Tony Daley, Terry Connor, Scott Golbourne and Karl Henry are also available to listen back to by clicking here.
