David Kelly is Old Gold Club's latest inductee

International striker David Kelly will be inducted into the Old Gold Club as he features in the club’s new podcast this week.

Wolves’ top scorer during the 1994/95 season, Kelly will discuss his two-year stint at the Molineux – including the infamous John McGinlay incident – when he joins hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

The journeyman goal scorer will feature in a half hour Facebook and YouTube video, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

The 53-year-old who joins the likes of Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt and Karl Henry as inductees into the Wolverhampton Building Supplies-sponsored Old Gold Club, will relive his time at the club, which saw him break Steve Bull's run of eight consecutive seasons as Wolves’ top scorer.

Kelly will be forever remembered at Wolves for being on the end of a McGinlay punch in the 1994 Division One play-off semi-final which ultimately ended in defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

But 'Ned's' scoring exploits should not be forgotten, with Kelly, who also played 26 times for Republic of Ireland, scoring nine goals, netting 36 times in 103 appearances in Old Gold.

The latest Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first six episodes of the podcast with Ikeme, Hibbitt, Henry, Tony Daley, Terry Connor and Scott Golbourne are also available to listen back to by clicking here.
