The new 01902 number will replace the current 0871 number, saving supporters more than 13p per minute on calls to the ticket office, switchboard and other club departments.
The current booking policy of £1.50 per ticket has also been addressed, so that £1.50 will apply to the first ticket only in all transactions, and subsequent tickets will then incur a lower fee per ticket.
Both policies have been discussed at numerous Fans’ Parliament meetings, and will be welcome news for Wolves fans.
“The switchboard number really has been a bugbear for many of our supporters since I have been involved at the club, and I am delighted we are in a position to announce the change,” said managing director Laurie Dalrymple.
“We would like to have implemented the change to the number sooner, but unfortunately we have to wait for our current telecoms contract to end.
“I said at the last Fans’ Parliament meeting that we were working on a number of initiatives to enhance this side of the supporter experience, and we hope these changes will make a tangible financial difference to our fans.”
