Wolves Express | Preparing for a Molineux Black Country derby

As Wolves Women prepare to face West Bromwich Albion at Molineux on Sunday, Wolves Express looks ahead to another important Black Country derby.

Dan McNamara's side will face off with West Brom for the fourth time this season, having faced the Baggies in the FAWNL Cup and the Birmingham Challenge Cup as well as their league fixtures, but this will be the first time the sides have met at Molineux this term.

Wolves head into their final four league matches sat second in the Northern Premier Division table, four points behind league leaders Burnley, but with a game in hand over the Clarets, and a win against their local rivals will keep the pressure on for that all important promotion spot.

Ahead of Sunday's 3pm clash at Molineux, head coach McNamara spoke of the importance of the game, what it feels like for his players to step out at Molineux and how the fans can play such a big part in making it a third Black Country derby win of the season

With no men's first-team fixture this weekend due to the international break, several members of the Wolves Women squad, including Beth Merrick, Racheal Quigley and Katie Johnson, also join the podcast as they all talk about why it will be great to see as many Wolves supporters inside the stadium as possible.

There is also a chat with midfielder Abi Loydon, who spent more than a decade with West Brom, about her impressive recent performances for the Old Gold, how she was accidentally injured by the referee in last weekend's 5-0 win over Loughborough and her experiences of being on both sides of the Black Country divide when playing a derby at Molineux.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
