Wolves Express | Reaction to defeat at the Etihad

The latest episode of Wolves Express reflects on Saturday's Premier League loss to Manchester City.

Rob Edwards is up first to give his take on the weekend's 2-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium, as the Old Gold's unbeaten start to 2026 came to an end against the Premier League title challengers.

The head coach outlines how he wants his players to take a lot of heart from their performance in Manchester on Saturday afternoon, as his side battled well after falling two goals down before the break, while also explaining why Wolves opened up more in the second half and created chances which could have seen them take something back to the Black Country.

Rodrigo Gomes also features on Monday's episode of the club's official bitesize podcast, as the Portuguese shares his thoughts on the match, and reveals what Edwards said to the players ahead of the second half as they fought to get back into the contest.

Gomes talks about the difficulties of playing against Man City, but how the players knew they needed to take risks if they were to take a positive result from the game and why there are still improvements to be made.

Finally, listeners can hear from Hall of Famer Andy Thompson - who can be heard more from on Matchday Live Extra - who has his say on Saturday's visit to the north west and shares what he believes Wolves could have done better.

Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
