Wolves support 'Orange Wolverhampton' once again

Wolves are once again joining the rest of the city in supporting ‘Orange Wolverhampton’ and saying no to interpersonal violence.

The annual campaign, now in its 10th year, begins on Monday 25th November and aims to raise awareness of the city’s continuing drive to end domestic abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, so-called honour-based violence, sexual violence and stalking and harassment.

Like in previous years, the football club is joining the city-wide campaign, further supporting the United Nations' annual 16-days of action and ‘Orange the World’ campaign, and highlighting advice and support that is available to victims and survivors from local and national organisations.

The club’s upcoming Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday 3rd December will be dedicated to Orange Wolverhampton and supporters will see a visible presence of orange ribbons and messaging across Molineux on the night, symbolising a collective commitment to this important campaign.

This year’s campaign includes a variety of online and in-person events to enable as many people as possible to get involved and will begin with a flag raising ceremony outside the Civic Centre on 25th November at 11am, and all supporters are welcome.

Samantha Lee, Wolves EDI lead, said: “At Wolves and Wolves Foundation, we are proud to stand alongside the Orange Wolves initiative once again this year, as we look to continue creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. This is at the heart of our One Pack EDI strategy, which champions unity, respect, and belonging for all.

“Molineux is more than just a stadium, it is a home for our community, and we are determined to ensure it remains a safe space for everyone. Orange Wolves is a powerful reminder that football has the ability to unite people, raise awareness, and drive positive change. Together, as one pack, we can make a lasting difference.”

Councillor Obaida Ahmed, cabinet member for health, wellbeing and community, said: “For a decade, Orange Wolverhampton has been our city’s annual call to businesses, public bodies and the community to take a stand against gender-based violence.

“We’re hoping that thousands of people will get involved again in this 10th anniversary year, perhaps by holding or joining one of the many events that will be taking place across the city, by attending the flag raising ceremony or visiting the Orange Wolverhampton information stand in the Mander Centre.”

The Orange Wolverhampton campaign is coordinated by Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together, the Safer Wolverhampton Partnership, Wolverhampton Domestic Violence Forum and the City of Wolverhampton Council.
