The latest episode of Wolves Express is now available and features a preview to a big Friday night FA Cup clash for Wolves Women - the team's first ever game to be broadcast live on national TV.
Unbeaten so far this season, and with 14 wins on the bounce following a late display against Loughborough Lightning on Sunday afternoon, the women's first-team return to SEAH Stadium in Telford on Friday night for a FA Cup clash with Stoke City under the lights.
The game will also be a landmark moment for Dan McNamara's side as the game will be shown on TNT Sports 1 from 7pm, and listeners to the club's official quickfire podcast can hear the thoughts of the head coach ahead of the team's first ever live TV nationally broadcast match.
McNamara outlines how special the FA Cup has been to his team over recent seasons, after Wolves reached the fifth round in successive years - a rare feat for a third tier side, which has seen the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United entertained in Telford.
The head coach also speaks about how he doesn't want his players to treat the second round tie as a big occasion, how the focus needs to be on repeating their two previous results against the Potters so far this year, which has seen his team pick up a pair of victories in both league and League Cup, and how the women's first-team have been growing and developing at Wolves.
Midfielder - and North Bank season ticket holder - Beth Merrick also features on the podcast as she reflects on her FA Cup journey with Wolves as both a fan of the men's first-team and player with the women's side, and why the competition means so much to her.
Merrick has scored 12 times in 17 FA Cup outings for the team since 2021 - including some of the most iconic goals in recent seasons against some of the elite women's teams in the country - and has been in great scoring form outside of the competition already this season with eight to her name, and she tries to explain why she has such a knack for scoring in the cup.
She also reflects on some of her FA Cup highlights from recent years and why everyone at the club will be proud of the team making further history on Friday night.
Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
