James Collins and Sam Johnstone features on the latest episode of Wolves Express as the duo look ahead to the Old Gold's first Premier League match since Vitor Pereira's departure.
Under-21 head coach Collins, alongside under-18 head coach Richard Walker, has been leading first-team training this week and will manage the side at Stamford Bridge as Wolves face Chelsea in Sky Sport's late Saturday Night Football kick-off.
Listeners to the club's official quickfire podcast can hear what Collins had to say ahead of this weekend's return to west London, as he outlines just what the players have been working on in training, the conversations he's been having with the squad, as well as praising outgoing boss Pereira, as the team looks for a fresh start and a first top flight win of the season.
Johnstone also previews this weekend's visit to Chelsea, as the goalkeeper admits the players need to take responsibility for the results and the performances so far this season, and insists they will be doing whatever possible to 'make things right'.
Going into a second match against the Blues in the last three weeks, Johnstone knows the side face a tough test on Saturday, but believes the quality in the squad and the hard work the players have been putting in on the training ground under Collins and Walker could make the difference.
With this weekend's Premier League fixtures paying tribute to those who gave their lives in conflict ahead of Armistice Day, Wolves Academy have also been commemorating the fallen this week and the club’s under-12 players have planted a tree at Compton Park in memory of the Wolves players who served in both the First and Second World Wars.
Natalie Deakin, head of education at the academy, also features on the latest episode of Wolves Express as she outline how the young Old Gold players have been paying their respects this week with the various activities being caried out.
Released three times a week – every Monday, Wednesday and Friday – Wolves Express is packed with news, updates and exclusive interviews on both the playing and non-playing side of the club, complementing other offerings of the Official Wolves Podcast and Matchday Live Extra.
