Wolves head to the Stadium of Light for the first time since 2018 on Saturday and do so in need of a first Premier League win of the season.

With the October internationals now in the distance, attention returns to the Premier League and the start of a four-match period before the next break.

For Wolves, it’s a trip to Sunderland, and below is a guide for any supporter heading north this weekend.

For our away Premier League fixture at Sunderland this weekend, advanced searches will take place on entry. Please note that coins, vapes, power banks, flares, smoke canisters, and umbrellas are not permitted in the stadium.

Please note that all coins collected will be donated to a charity chosen by Wolves following the fixture.

For vapes, power banks, umbrellas, and other large items, a collection procedure is available with Sunderland’s stewarding team prior to entry.

Ticket availability: Tickets for this fixture have sold out.

Ticket delivery: All tickets for this fixture are digital tickets that have been sent via email ahead of the fixture.

Kits

Sunderland will be wearing their red and white striped home shirt and black shorts.

Wolves will be debuting the 2025/26 turquoise away shirt and turquoise shorts for the first time in a competitive fixture.

Travel and transport

Train: Nearest train station is Newcastle train station, which is 14.5 miles away from the stadium.

Coach & sus: Official coach travel for this fixture is sold out. It will depart Molineux at 9am, we advise supporters to arrive around 30 minutes prior to the departure time.

Driving: M6 north from Wolverhampton, postcode for the stadium is: S451SU.

Parking: There is no parking available for general admission fans at the stadium. However, there are various options around the city.

Travel disruption

Due to planned industrial action, on some routes there will be no CrossCountry services operating on Saturday. We have been advised that supporters shouldn’t plan to travel on any CrossCountry services and we strongly recommend checking and confirming your travel plans ahead of time.

Stadium guide

Seating area: Wolves supporters will be located in the North Stand.

Turnstile location: Wolves supporters will need to use turnstile entrances 69 – 74.  

Turnstiles opening time: Turnstiles are due to open at 1.30pm (around one and a half hours prior to kick-off). Please note, in some instances there can be delays to opening turnstiles.  

Accessible entrance and lift: All visiting fans that require support with accessing the stadium can use a lift in the 76 Yards to access the away end when they arrive. Please visit the 76 Yards entrance and request to use the lift to level 3 with the stewards, you will be able to access the lift to visit the away end from there. Once arriving at level 3, there will be a team of stewards available to welcome you and help direct you to the correct seating area/wheelchair platform to watch the game.

Food and drink: There are two food and drink courtyards within the away end concourse for visiting supporters. Refreshments are available to purchase from the turnstiles opening, during half time and for thirty minutes after full time.

Fanzone – Beacon of Light: The Foundation of Light hosts the official Sunderland AFC Fanzone in their Beacon of Light building on matchdays. Located next to the Stadium of Light, the fanzone area provides a welcoming pre-match build-up for all supporters ahead of their arrival at the Stadium of Light. The Fanzone is accessible to fans of both teams and opens two and a half hours before kick-off for every home league match at the Stadium of Light.

Safety and security information

Flags/banners: Flags or banners should be no more than 200cm in length, and 100cm wide. No offensive flags will be allowed in. All flags must not include poles and must meet fire regulations.

Bag policy: Small bags (smaller than A4) are allowed into the ground. No larger bags will not be allowed in.

Searches and bag checks: All fans will go through ‘airport style’ security checks and bag searches.

You will subsequently receive an automated reply and should continue to use ‘SAFC’ at the start of all subsequent texts.
