Wolves take football development programme to China

Wolves have continued to expand into Asia recently by launching a brand-new football development programme in the Greater Bay Area of China

Earlier this month the club’s global football development programme successfully kicked off its inaugural series in the Greater Bay Area, delivering inspirational football experiences to young athletes in Hong Kong and Macao.

The initiative began with a school visit in Hong Kong Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School on 3rd October, where 30 selected students participated in an exclusive training session led by the club's coaches.

The event focused on fundamental skills of football and introduced the high-energy, passionate style of play synonymous with Wolves and Premier League football.

The programme's main event was a two-day intensive training camp held on the 4th and 5th October at the YOHO Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel facilities in Macao.

The camp brought together a combined group of 62 promising young footballers from Hong Kong and Macao, who underwent specialised training designed to develop their technical abilities, tactical understanding and overall potential.

Joe Hunt, head of football development at Wolves, said: “We are incredibly excited to bring the Wolves philosophy to the talented young players of the Greater Bay Area. The energy and raw potential we witnessed in both Hong Kong and Macao was truly impressive.

“Our mission is not only to develop skills on the pitch but to inspire a lifelong passion for the game and instil the values of hard work and teamwork that define our club.”

The Greater Bay Area programme marks a significant step in Wolves' international strategy to identify and nurture football talent in key global regions.

The club is committed to building a lasting presence and contributing to the grassroots football ecosystem in the area, with plans for future activities already in development.
