Wolves and club retail partner Levy Merchandising are set to revolutionise the fan retail experience by launching an innovative, temporary city centre store powered by Amazon Just Walk Out technology.
The Wolves Pop Up Store, operated by Levy Merchandising, will see the Old Gold become the first Premier League club to offer this cutting-edge, frictionless shopping experience.
The pop-up store will open for one weekend only, on Saturday 25th October and Sunday 26th October, at the Mander Centre in Wolverhampton, taking over the former Footasylum unit.
The store’s presence in the Mander Centre will also coincide with Wolves’ Premier League match against Burnley, offering fans the chance to pick up their purchases ahead of kick-off.
Taking over a 4,500 sq. ft space, the store is designed to offer the ultimate "grab-and-go" retail solution, just in time for the crucial Christmas shopping rush.
Using Amazon's Just Walk Out technology, customers can simply select their merchandise, from latest kits to festive gifts and walk out, and the system automatically detects the items taken and charges the customer's preferred payment method – eliminating the need for traditional checkout queues.
“This is a major step forward in delivering a best-in-class fan experience,” said Dan McGinley, head of operations at Levy Merchandising.
“We are constantly looking for ways to enhance how supporters engage with the club and partnering with Amazon to bring their Just Walk Out technology to a Premier League retail environment for the first time is incredibly exciting.
“It’s all about speed, convenience and delivering a modern retail experience that meets the high expectations of fans."
Friendly and knowledgeable staff members will still be on hand to assist fans with product information, sizing queries and any support needed with the checkout process.
The Wolves Pop Up Store is conceived as more than just a place to shop, but a community hub designed to bring the Molineux experience into the heart of the city. The weekend is planned to be a packed celebration for fans and the local community, featuring:
- Meet and greets: Opportunities for photos with special guests, including the club’s beloved mascots, Wolfie and Wendy.
- Live entertainment: DJ sets brought to you by local Wolverhampton artists.
- Sweet collaboration: Partnering with local musician and Grammy nominee S-X (Sam Gumbley), who is bringing a pop-up of his new venture, Meltdown Cookies! Get an exclusive taste of the cookies coming to Wolverhampton on 1st November.
The Wolves Pop Up Store will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 25th October and 10am to 4pm on Sunday 26th October.
