Wolves will host their second ‘Iftar Feast with the Pack’ at Molineux Stadium on Monday 8th April 2024.
As part of Wolves’ ‘One Pack’ ethos, everyone interested in connecting with the football club, including supporters and local communities from all faiths and backgrounds, are invited to Molineux in the spirit of sharing and learning more about the different cultures and tastes that make up the city and football club.
March and April are special months of the year for different communities, with the marking of the spiritual and religious festivals of Easter (Christianity), Passover (Judaism), Vaisakhi (Sikhism) and Ramadan (Islam).
Wolves are offering up to 150 spaces for local people, supporters, staff or players to attend a unique event to embrace Ramadan with the sharing of an Iftar Feast with the Pack and to experience the breaking of fast (Iftar). Iftar is the meal eaten after sunset for those who are fasting during Ramadan.
A cross section of voices will be heard from a special panel at Molineux, followed by the opportunity to observe the Muslim prayer before the breaking of fast together. Doors open at 5.30pm, with the event starting promptly at 6.30pm.
The Adhaan (call to prayer) will be delivered over the Molineux PA system by local faith leader Imam Mohammad Asad MBE. This will be heard by those present at Molineux but also in the vicinity of the stadium at approximately 7.58pm on the night. Local residents and supporters are encouraged to gather outside their homes as family, friends or neighbours in belonging and harmony.
