Wolves Weekly | Rui Pedro Silva: Inside the Portuguese revolution

Rui Pedro Silva joins Mikey Burrows in a special episode of Wolves Weekly, as the former assistant head coach lifts the lid on Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo.

On this week’s show, Nuno's right-hand man gives an incredibly rare interview as he takes a look back on life under the Portuguese boss and gives unique insight into the four seasons he spent at Molineux.

Silva had previously worked with Nuno at Rio Ave, Valencia and Porto before the pair moved to Molineux ahead of the 2017/18 season, but when their time in the West Midlands came to an end, Silva moved into management with Famalicao.

In his exclusive chat with Burrows, Silva speaks about who had originally been earmarked for the 'Conor Coady role' when the decision was first made to play with a back five, as well as which of the Portuguese imports didn't feel suited to the Championship.

Silva also discusses why opposition coaching teams didn't like them, after several altercations on the sidelines during their season in the second tier of English football, before revealing the three major contributing factors to why things changed after the first two years in the Premier League - which ultimately saw Nuno, Silva and the coaching staff's time at Molineux come to an end at the conclusion of the 2020/21 season.

Wolves Weekly is available to listen to on all podcast providers. There is also a host of official and exclusive gold and black content to be found on Wolves Radio, including Matchday Live Extra and Wolves Express.
