Richard Stearman returned to Compton Park last week to link up with the Wolves squad set to take part in the TST Tournament over the coming days.
The defender played more than 250 times for the club across two spells and is now back in old gold, ready to represent the club in North Carolina. Having returned to Wolverhampton for a training session, the 35-year-old can already sense the competitiveness in the group, ahead of the start of TST on Thursday.
On being back at Compton Park
“It feels great to be back. Memories came flooding back in when I made the drive from my house to Compton. It’s great to have the shirt and the badge back on, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and doing some work.”
On being back with the lads
“I’ve been very fortunate, throughout my time at Wolves, that I’ve had some very good teammates and very good dressing rooms. To be a part of that again, swapping stories, seeing how everyone is getting on, it’s been good. I’m looking forward to sharing a trip with them.”
🗣 "We're going out there to win and put on a good show."@the_stears on returning to Wolverhampton ahead of this week's @TST7v7.

On taking part in the TST tournament
“I don’t really know what to expect. Whenever you get players and ex pros together, whatever it might be, they’re very competitive. I’m sure it’s going to be no different out there, especially with the prize money at stake.
“The boys have a lot of pride, and they want to prove themselves and show they’ve still got it. We’ll be no different, we’ll be going out there to win and put on a good show. Looking forward to it.”
On an exciting challenge
“There are obviously some established clubs taking teams out there. There’s going to be a few teams we don’t know too much about, being created. The format’s obviously new to a lot of us. I’m looking forward to it and hopefully we can do something special.”
