Fan focus groups of up to 20 fans will work closely with the club in key consultation areas, with the aim of supporting and providing feedback on the club’s future vision, growth and progress.
Each focus group member will be part of a messaging group along with club officials responsible for the specific area of discussion, where they will be able to share their own ideas, ideas from other fans or provide feedback on specific areas.
In turn, the messaging groups will provide a platform for the relevant club officials to have direct dialogue with supporters and provide updates on certain areas of the football club under their leadership.
At least three meetings per fan focus group will be held during the 2023/24 season, with meetings taking place either at Molineux or virtually.
Each focus group will nominate a representative from the group to work with the club on meeting dates and agendas. Each fan focus group representative will also be invited to sit on a new fan advisory panel that will work closely with club management, with more information on this initiative to be released early in 2023.
The club is inviting supporters to apply to join the following fan focus groups:
Ticketing group
This group allows supporters to pass on feedback regarding the ticketing process, from allocation of tickets to methods for supporters in which supporters can purchase tickets. This group provided valuable feedback during 2022 which led to improvements in the season ticket resale scheme and an introduction of a ballot for away match tickets.
Retail and commercial group
This group allows supporters to pass on feedback regarding the whole retail product range, stadium tours and the Wolves Museum as well the opportunity to communicate with key staff to improve the fan experience in those areas. During 2022, this group provided the club with feedback on adult and junior sizing and also feedback which led to a change in how the annual Wolves Cash bonus for season ticket holders was allocated.
Matchday Experience Group
The matchday experience group focuses on matchdays at Molineux and ensuring that the club provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all supporters. During 2022 this focus group assisted with fan displays and helped shape the matchday experience survey which was then sent to every supporter that attended a fixture during the 2021/22 season.
Supporters can apply to join a focus group by completing the application form, which can be accessed here.
Dave Wood, Fan Services manager, said: “Our fan focus groups have proved to be a success throughout the last year, allowing fans to have a voice on subjects that are important to them.
“The focus groups have provided really useful feedback which have helped shape decision making within the club and there some great examples of focus group feedback leading to a positive change for supporters.”
The focus groups are open to any supporter and the application process will take around 10 minutes to complete. Supporters can only sit on one focus group at a time and membership to a focus group will have a mandatory rotation of 25% of its members every three seasons.
The club hope to introduce more focus groups in the future, with further announcements being made through the official club channels. Supporters representing existing independent supporter groups are welcome to apply to join a focus group and the club will also continue to engage with independent supporters’ groups on relevant matters as they arise.
The application process will be managed by a club panel who will ensure there is a fair and diverse representation of the club’s fan base. Successful applicants will be asked to read and agree to a fan focus group code of conduct.
Any questions on the club’s fan focus groups can be directed to fanservices@wolves.co.uk. The deadline to apply is Friday 30th December and successful applicants will be contacted by email in January 2023.
