Youngster Xu Bin joins the club

Young midfielder Xu Bin has joined Wolves in a permanent move, after leaving Chinese Super League side Qingdao West Coast.

The 21-year-old, who captained China during their recent U23 Asian Cup campaign, joins on a free transfer and will head straight out on a domestic loan for the remainder of the season to gain further experience.

The defensive midfielder, who can contribute in both boxes and has a good passing range, is highly rated in China and has experience in senior football from time with Guangzhou FC and Qingdao West Coast.

Earlier this month he was part of the China side that reached the U23 Asian Cup final in Saudi Arabia, having never previously progressed from the group stage of the competition.

The youngster is expected to complete a loan domestically, allowing him to settle in England and learn the language, while remaining available to still represent Wolves’ under-21 group.
