Wolves under-18s will play host to QPR under-18s under the Molineux lights on Wednesday 13th December, 7pm kick-off, in the FA Youth Cup.
Richard Walker’s youngsters will host the R’s at the Golden Palace in the third round of the prestigious youth competition.
Both sides enter at this stage, with Wolves hoping to emulate their success in 2021/22 when the club reached the semi-final stage for the first time since 2005.
The Old Gold won three times at Molineux throughout that memorable campaign and now the latest crop of talent from Compton Park will be looking to create their own history.
Tickets for the tie will be priced at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions. Please note that all supporters, including season ticket holders, must purchase tickets due to this game being a cup tie.
Speaking on the fixture, under-18s head coach Walker has discussed leading his group for the first time under the Molineux lights and said: “The FA Youth Cup is always the pinnacle of the under-18s games programme. To get a home tie at Molineux is a fantastic opportunity for the boys to showcase what they’ve been doing week in week out in front of a wider audience.
“I’ve had some real high moments and some low moments in the Youth Cup, but I always think they’re a great insight into the psychological make-up of the players. You get a real feel for the ones who step up on the big occasion and see it as an opportunity to showcase themselves and deal with the pressure that comes with the tournament itself.
“We’ve got a lot of lads who are local to the area and a lot of whom are Wolves fans, so I think it will mean a lot to the boys. It’s the stadium they want to go and perform at so I think it will give the lads a lift.
“One of my experiences from the outside looking in on the previous adventures in the Youth Cup has been how well the fans have bought into it and how engaged they are. I saw a couple of years ago how the support level increased for each round and the supporters really got behind the group. I look forward to experiencing that on the evening and seeing the fans look out for hopefully the next first-team starlet.”
