It was the second time in three seasons that Wolves overcame the Eagles at this stage of the FA Youth Cup. Back in the 2019/20 season, Wolves survived a scare to secure their place in the fifth round with a tight 2-1 win at Molineux. Unfortunately, that was where the journey ended for Steve Davis’ young side, as they were unable to get past eventual runners-up Chelsea on the road.
Wolves are back in the last 16 this season, thanks to victory over Salford City at Molineux in the third round before last weekend’s thriller at Selhurst Park, and the fifth round draw paired Davis’ scholars with either Spurs or their Black Country rivals West Bromwich Albion.
The two faced off this afternoon, and it was the hosts who came out on top at Hotspur Way, winning 6-1 thanks to a pair of braces from Jaden Williams and Thomas Bloxham, and strikes from Alfie Devine and Charlie Sayers, to set up the contest at Molineux.
The date and kick-off time for the FA Youth Cup fifth round match between Wolves and Spurs will be announced in due course.
