Diallo makes loan move to Accrington Stanley

Wolves under-23 midfielder Sadou Diallo has made a temporary move away from Molineux by joining Accrington Stanley on loan until January 2020.

The 20-year-old, who signed for Wolves ahead of last season after progressing through the ranks at Manchester City, will hope to make his debut for the League One club against Bristol Rovers this weekend.

The Guinea-born England youth international played a pivotal role in the under-23’s promotion to Premier League 2 Division 1 last season, scoring the title-deciding goal against Manchester United back in April to secure his side the league trophy.

Scott Sellars, Head of Wolves Academy, believes the move to Accrington will be important in the next step of Diallo’s development.

“We think Sadou’s ready to make that step up to league football after having an excellent season last year with the under-23s,” Sellars said.

“We looked at many of the players from that age group who would benefit from going out on loan and Sadou was definitely one who we believed needed that first-team experience to challenge him a bit more and help further his development.”

Wolves would like to wish Sadou the best of luck during his spell at Wham Stadium.
