Wolves 1 (Gonzalez 78) Fleetwood Town 1 (Kelly 83)
Wolves under-21s maintained their unbeaten record in the 2026/27 Premier League Cup, after drawing with Fleetwood Town U21 at the Aggborough Stadium.
Rich Walker’s side added another point to their Premier League Cup group stage tally, seeing them remain top of the Group E standings with three matches played.
Wolves started well against The Fishermen, winning their early duels in what was an energetic opening ten minutes.
The game eventually settled down, and it was the Old Gold who began to gain control, with full-back Wes Okoduwa proving a constant threat down the right flank.
It was the hosts who came closest to opening the scoring when Alfie Dayman’s volleyed effort rattled against the crossbar, following an excellent corner delivery from skipper Luke Rawlings.
Wolves went close once more, this time through Tom Edozie, whose driven effort from the edge of the box saw a flying save from Fleetwood Town goalkeeper Oliver Bellizia.
Despite Wolves’ dominance in the opening 45 minutes, there was nothing to separate the two sides into half time, with the hosts still searching for the breakthrough.
Half-time | Wolves 0-0 Fleetwood Town
The visitors were the quickest out of the blocks, registering their first shot on target just two minutes after the break, with striker Noah Sawkins’ effort denied by a strong hand from Alfie Brooks.
Makenzie Bradbury’s half-volley proved The Old Gold’s best chance of the second period so far, with the midfielder’s effort taking a slight deflection before flying just inches high of the crossbar.
Enso Gonzalez eventually broke the deadlock in the 78th minute, with the substitute firing home from close range to meet Ballard-Matthews’ headed delivery back across goal.
It took the visitors just five minutes to find an equaliser, when a loose Wolves pass found the feet of Fleetwood substitute Alfie Kelly, who’s first time effort found the back of the net.
Despite taking the lead late on, Wolves were unable to hold on for all three points, as Fleetwood fought back to earn a share of the spoils.
