The Canadian international was heavily involved in the build-up of Wolves’ goal, and also forced Albion keeper Ted Cann into several quality saves, but Corbeanu admits the team need to put the result behind them and aim to win the three matches remaining in the season as they push to maintain their place in the Premier League 2 Division 2 play-off places.
On conceding late against Albion
“Honestly, I think it’s very unlucky. I thought we played well, we dominated the first 20/25 minutes of the game, I thought we just let ourselves go a little bit, but overall, it was a decent performance.
“I think with the amount of chances we had, we should have punished them, but things like this happen in football and you just have to keep going.
“Today was a good performance in the end, but we just couldn’t get the win, but now we look ahead to the next game and try to win as many as possible until the end of the season to give us a good chance of going into the play-offs.”
On the under-23’s play-off push
“Three massive games. It was our goal to get promoted from the beginning of the season. We knew we had a talented team and a talented squad, so we’re looking to really finish the season on a high note.
“We need to forget about this game, put it behind us now, and just look to win all the remaining games. That’s our goal.”

On adjusting after early injuries
“They were a little bit surprising. Knowing Nigel and how solid he’s been for us this season, but we’ve got Pascal in there and we all trust him, we know his abilities.
“Also, Conor came in and got the goal, so they all made a positive impact on the game, but we weren’t expecting it; Austin going down and Nigel.
“But these are things you have to cope with, and we understand that in that moment, we just had to push hard and go for the win, but unfortunately it didn’t happen.”
On switching flanks in recent matches
“We changed it up a little bit, I moved on the left in these past few games, which has kind of changed the dynamics a little bit, Owen Hesketh is playing more central, and we know his ability in the pockets because he’s a very technical player, as is Cundle as well.
“We changed that, but the team has made massive strides in the attacking play in general, especially over the last few games.
“It is a change, but I try to do it on both feet as much as possible. I am a little bit better cutting in onto my left foot, but you have to learn new things, and this is all part of my development, coming in from the opposite side, so it’s good to lean new positions and play in new weeks.”

On scoring on his international debut
“It’s been a positive few weeks for me. I really enjoyed my time with Canada, getting my first call-up was an amazing feeling and to score on my debut.
“It’s been a hectic few weeks, but I just want to finish this season on as high of a note as possible now, and just keep improving to get into the first-team squad.
“Obviously getting to meet the guys on the team at Canada was very different for me and was not something I was used to.
“I wasn’t used to playing with ‘men’ and being alongside guys who have kids and all this, so it was definitely a new experience for me, but I really enjoyed it, and I’m just hoping to build on that now.”
