The Wolves captain admits it was a case of individual errors from the visitors which led to Liverpool’s goals but hopes his team mates can take confidence from the spirit they showed as they tried to fight back from three goals down.
On falling to defeat at Liverpool
“It’s disappointing, obviously, with the result, no-one likes losing. We had loads of chances, but today just wasn’t our day to finish them.
“We showed great character until the final whistle, playing around with the ball, playing on the press, I thought the boys didn’t give up and went right till the end.”
On finding themselves 4-1 down
“I feel like we left some goals out there. They were right there, and it was just the final end product, the last little kick which we just couldn’t finish off.
“It’s unlucky and disappointing to lose, but I think the goals were from mistakes.
“I don’t think they really had to work hard for their goals, but it’s something that we’ll go back to the training ground and look at, work on it as a team and bring it into the next game and hopefully get a win.”
On facing Rhian Brewster
“It was great. Before the game I was looking forward to playing against him. It’s a good opportunity to play against players who have been in and around their first teams.
“It tells you where you are, in a sense. It was a great opportunity and is a pleasure to play against him.”
On taking confidence from fightback
“If you compare it to the game against Derby, the plays that we’ve worked on and brought into our game then we’ll definitely take confidence from the way we ended the game.
“It was mistakes that cost us our goals, but those are things we can cut out of our game, but the boys did great today, and I can’t fault them.”
