Wolves U23s were propelled back to the top of Premier League 2 Division 2 with a comfortable 4-2 win over local rivals West Bromich Albion at Kidderminster Harriers on Monday evening.
Max Kilman opened the scoring for Wolves in the eighth minute as he blasted home a corner from close range.
Wolves continued to play at a high tempo and seven minutes later they had their second. Niall Ennis looked to have been fouled in the West Brom box, but he picked himself up before powering an effort past the hosts’ ‘keeper.
The Baggies bounced back with half an hour to play as striker Kyle Edwards held off the challenge of Dion Sanderson before powerfully striking the ball past Harry Burgoyne.
Ten minutes later, Wolves’ two goal advantage was restored as Pedro Goncalves scored from the penalty spot
Edwards scored his and West Brom’s second with six minutes to play but any chance of a comeback was made even more difficult when Alex Bradley was sent off for a second bookable offence.
The extra man paid dividend for Wolves almost instantly as Oscar Buur got on the scoresheet with a well driven shot into the bottom corner to top off a fine win for Wolves.
MOMENT OF THE MATCH:
