Injury update | Jimenez and Hwang

After Bruno Lage confirmed Raul Jimenez and Hee Chan Hwang will miss the trip to West Ham United, the Wolves medical team provided more clarity on their injuries.

Jimenez has missed the club’s last two Premier League fixtures with a groin issue and recently returned from international duty, where he continued his rehabilitation with the Mexico medical team.

Hwang recently represented South Korea, where he scored against Costa Rica, before picking up an injury ahead of his return to Compton Park…

As we have disclosed before, Raul has a groin issue. He has had groin problems over the last few years which we have managed, however this time it has been more challenging.

He is under the care of our medical team and an external specialist and is making progress. He is still in the rehabilitation phase. The main objective is for us to look after the player’s health before making predictions on exact timings of his return.

We have a very good relationship with the Mexican national team medical practitioners who have co-operated with his management in the understanding that Raul is important to both Wolves and Mexico.

He joined up with the national team last week to continue with our rehabilitation plan and in order to give him the positive experience of being around the squad preparing for the World Cup. Further updates will follow.

Hee Chan returned from international duty with an adductor muscle strain. It is not severe, but he is still being assessed and we will release a further update soon.
