Team spirit shining through, says Coady

Wolves' togetherness and grit pleased skipper Conor Coady after they came from behind to earn a point against Manchester United at Molineux on Monday night.

Yet another Ruben Neves wonder goal - along with Rui Patricio's save from a Paul Pogba penalty with the score at 1-1 - will take the headlines, but Coady believes that the performance showed all of Wolves' battling qualities. The visitors were the better team in the first-half, but Nuno Espirito Santo's side deserved their point after an excellent second-half display, with which Coady was delighted.

On the belief to come back

“It's something we make sure we've got in our game, that sort of grit and bite.

“We've spoken about that team spirit before - we know we've got some fantastic footballers in that dressing room, but more importantly fantastic friends, and we all stick together, we're close to each other and we make sure we never, ever give up, and I think you've seen that tonight.

“It's something we need to make sure we keep in our game for as long as possible.”

On the performance

“We found the first-half tough and we struggled to get out. They pressed us really high and really fast, and I thought they had that intent and played really well.

“It was important that we went in at half-time not having conceded two, which allowed us to stick in there.

“The manager spoke fantastically well at half-time, as he always does, and showed us a few things we needed to do, and we managed to get a grip on the second-half a little bit better.

“I thought we were brilliant then in the second-half - we pressed them a bit higher and kept the line a bit higher, and we managed to play out past the press a little bit better.”
