We Were Really Happy

Alfred N’Diaye revealed that although he only came on as a substitute in the 56th minute during the 2-1 win at Middlesbrough, he says he felt like he’d played the full 90.

The midfielder was introduced as he replaced Ivan Cavaleiro by Nuno following the dismissal of Ruben Neves.

Wolves, then had Matt Doherty sent off 15 minutes later and Wolves were forced to play the final 20 minutes with nine men.

N’Diaye says that although it was a draining experience, he was delighted that Wolves were able to see it out to earn all three points.

“We were really happy at the end because it was a very hard game with nine against eleven,” N’Diaye said.

“I think this kind of game is similar to the Bristol City game - this is good for our confidence, for our fans, for everybody to win this kind of game.

“I played 30 minutes but it feels like I played 90 minutes because we have to be more focused!

“We have to pay more attention and thats why we are happy at the end.

“Everyone is smiling because we are happy as a team and with the fans too.

“It was a hard game, it wasn’t a normal game and we win so we are very happy.

“You could see the faces of the fans, it was a good feeling.

“Normally we try to keep it tight but with nine against eleven, you have to be even more tight!

“Everyone had to give more effort and I think we did it today - we deserved the win, we played very well even at eleven v eleven we played very well.

“With nine against eleven we played with good character - we showed our character, we showed good things.”

The Sengalese International revealed that Wolves do work on certain situations in training which prepare the players for playing with a man or two less.

He says that the plays committed with 100% effort and he was thankful that Wolves came away with a win.

N’Diaye said, “we work in training with seven against six, learning to adapt yourself to the situations in a game.

“Today, that was the case - we tried to give our best and play in our shape. In this type of game you have to play tight and this was important.

“We have only two days until the next game! We have to be focused on Tuesday’s game because it’s another important game - we have to win.

“We still have seven games and we know we have to win, win, win, win…”
