Wolves returned to winning ways in comfortable fashion as they brushed past Leeds United at Elland Road in the Sky Bet Championship.
The visitors began the game stronger, squandering a number of chances before Romain Saiss headed home a Barry Douglas corner to open the scoring.
Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota both had chances to extend Wolves' lead but it was Willy Boly who added the second goal on the stroke of half time, again from a Douglas corner.
Wolves continued where they had left off in the second half again having chances to extend their lead.
It was the substitute Benik Afobe who scored his first goal since joining on loan from Bournemouth in January to make it 3-0 Wolves and extend their lead to six points at the top of the Championship.
Despite neither side having a clear chance to speak of in the opening 10 minutes, it was Wolves who started the game on the front foot, with some smart one touch football.
The game continued to be scrappy in the following stages with neither side being able to create a clear cut chance.
Wolves created the first opportunity in the game as the game approached the 20-minute mark. Diogo Jota turned Pontus Jansson on the halfway line before carrying it forward before finding Leo Bonatini on the edge of the box. The Brazilian forward worked the ball onto his left foot and then picked out Ivan Cavleiro on the right hand side of the box who’s driven effort forced a smart save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the Leeds goal.
Just a minute later, Wolves had the best chance of the game so far as Matt Doherty found himself in space on down the right flank before he fired a superb cross across the face of goal to pick out Diogo Jota. The Wolves forward was unable to turn the ball goal wards from six yards out and the hosts cleared.
Wolves went close twice more through Jota and Bonatini but it was in the 28th minute that Wolves took the lead. Barry Douglas produced a stunning corner which picked out an unmarked Romain Saiss who made no mistake to head home into the bottom right hand corner and put Wolves ahead.
Chances continued to be spurned by Wolves. First, Bonatini robbed the substitute Pennington on the edge of the Leeds box before sliding the ball to to Jota who was unable to get a clean shot on goal and Leeds scrambled it away. And then Wolves had an even better chance just moments later. N’Diaye played in Bonatini who looked to lift the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper but the Leeds stopper did well to block his effort.
It was 2-0 on the stroke of half time, and it was a thoroughly deserved two-goal lead. Once again, Barry Douglas came up with a sublime corner which picked out Danny Batth at the back post. His header crashed off the crossbar, looped up in the air and Willy Boly was in the right place to bundle the ball home and send Wolves in with a two-goal lead at the break.

Wolves looked to start the second half as the finished the first as Barry Douglas saw an effort well-saved by Peacock-Farrell and from the resulting corner Alfred N'Diaye had a header cleared off the line.
Leeds showed glimpses that they did pose a threat as Gaetano Berardi struck a superb effort from 35 yards which skimmed John Ruddy's left-hand post. While the Wolves 'keeper was also forced to make a save from a Stuart Dallas header at his back post.
It was almost three on the hour mark as Barry Douglas found Diogo Jota in the Leeds penalty area. The Portuguese forward cut back onto his right foot before rasping shot which slapped the underside of the crossbar and ran away to safety.
Benik Afobe was introduced in the 70th minute as he replaced Leo Bonatini and he made an instant impact. After nodding the ball down on the halfway line for Diogo Jota, he was then played in over the top by the Portuguese forward. First time, he volleyed at goal from 30 yards and saw his effort fly into the top corner of the goal - his first goal in 808 days for Wolves.
