Ivan Cavaleiro’s 39th minute strike was all that separated the two sides in a game in which Nuno’s side dominated large periods.
Nuno admitted it was a tough game but said that the three points were thoroughly deserved.
“It was a tough game and a deserved win,” Nuno began.
“I think new that it was going to be a tough game, the boys knew that it would be tough and they played knowing that.
“The work that they’ve done especially in the second half was fantastic and I thought we controlled the game.
“We needed ability, we had it, we had good possession, we had clear chances and it’s three well-deserved points for us.
“We controlled the long game and the second balls - that takes a lot of hard work and we controlled it well.
“It’s a good game and a good result. It was good to have all of the fans here, it’s fantastic to play here at Molineux in front of a full house.”
Nuno took the opportunity to thank the Wolves fans and wish them a Merry Christmas following the win.
“Now is the moment to wish them a very, very Merry Christmas to everybody at Wolves.
“This week, we must know that there are a lot of distractions around us so we have to be focussed around what is important,” he continued.
“We have no frustration at all - we have to enjoy the moment and let’s keep going knowing what is our way - how we play, grow on that and enjoy it.”
Wolves now have two days to recover before a trip to Milwall on Boxing Day.
Nuno said that his squad is fully prepared for the festive period but said that he is looking forward to enjoying time with his family as well.
“We work tomorrow, it’s a calendar that we anticipated and we prepare ourselves well for these kind of situations,” he said.
“Let’s enjoy our Christmas - it’s going to be the first time for us in the UK and we’re going to enjoy it as a family.
“The smile on our faces is well deserved for the hard work that everybody in this club has been doing.”
