Nuno Salutes Another Three Points

Nuno Espiríto Santo tonight saluted another impressive Wolves as his team made it five wins in succession – and scored five goals in the process – in defeating Bolton.

Goals from Willy Boly, Leo Bonatini, Ivan Cavaleiro (2) – the first a penalty, and Diogo Jota secured a 5-1 victory, with Will Buckley replying for the visitors.

“The atmosphere was good and the result was good,” said Nuno.

“I think the fans enjoyed it and that is our job – to prepare the team for them to enjoy it.

“They got behind the team and I am proud of that and thankful of that.

“The players worked very hard.

“It is about how they moved the ball, the way they defended, the possession, creativity and their talent.

“They have a lot of talent, but there is no talent without hard work.

“They get confidence from the way they work every day and the way they play.”

Nuno and Bolton manager Phil Parkinson were both sent to the stands just before half time after both benches reacted to a David Wheater challenge on Jota, for which the Bolton man was booked.

The respective bosses spoke after the game and said all was sorted.

“It was something that happens in a game of football,” said Nuno.

“It happens all over the world.

“I thought it was a tough tackle and it was an argument but nothing more than that.

“The referee stepped in and did his job and it is finished.

“What happens on the pitch stays on the pitch.

“I spoke with Phil after the game and we had a good talk and it is sorted – there is no problem.

“I am sorry, I am part of society and I respect every single human being.”
