Cesar Pexioto felt Wolves were very deserving of their three points at home to Watford having dominated their Championship battle.
An almost perfect first half display was just missing more goals from the Portuguese’s side, but Wolves still took a lead into the break through Adam Armstrong’s close-range effort.
And although his side had to weather difficult conditions, as well as an improved Watford in the second half, he was pleased with the way his players were able to work together to secure the victory.
On three points against Watford
“It was very important. I think we deserved the three points and today we deserved all three. We had a great first half. We scored one goal and had opportunities to score more.
“The second half wasn’t as good, but I think we were the better team throughout the game. It’s an important victory for us and gives confidence to the players because they work very hard every day. They deserve these kinds of moments.
“It’s an important three points for us and for the supporters.”
On battling against difficult conditions
“The lads were great. They worked a lot and did what we wanted them to do. We created a lot of chances and, if we had been a little cleaner in the final third, we could have scored more goals.
“Watford have quality, but today we were much, much better. We played a very good game although in some moments of the second half we didn’t do everything exactly the way I wanted, but I think that was because the players wanted so much to win the three points.
“The most important thing is that it was a good performance and a great effort from the team, so congratulations to them. The three points are very important for us.”

On learning from Tuesday night
“Today the team was more aggressive. We found space, had more mobility and created more chances to shoot.
“I think we had 24 or 26 shots, we had 14 corners and a lot of clear chances to score. It was a totally different performance.
“The players understood what they had to do. A lot of teams are going to come to Molineux and defend deep, looking to hit us on the counter-attack, but I think today we managed that situation well.”
On having a week to prepare for Cardiff
“It’s very important for us. Today we were missing some players because of the number of games we’ve had. There have been small injuries, small issues, and players are tired, so this break is very important.
“We now have a long week to work. First, the players will have some days off to recover, not only physically but mentally as well. We’ve had a lot of games, more than other teams because we’ve also had cup matches in midweek.
“The team has responded well, but now it’s time to rest. After that, we’ll have a full week to work with the players, improve the team, reinforce our principles and patterns of play, and make sure we're moving in the right direction because we want to keep improving and keep getting better.”
