It’s Great To Be Back

Michał Żyro says he is delighted to be back playing after what has been lengthy and frustrating spell out through injury.

Żyro injured his knee during the 2015/16 season and didn't featured at all for the first team during last season.

The Polish international returned back to pre-season training with a clean bill of health and he is now putting the work in in preparation for the forthcoming season.

He said, “It feels great to be back playing and it has been a long time to be fair.

“It’s now pre-season which is preparing us for the new season, I hope that everyone will be ready for the new challenge.

“I spoke with the manager a few weeks ago about my injury and about the plan for the next few weeks and everything looks really good - my knee feels very good and I hope that everything will be fine for the next few weeks, few months and through ’til the end of the season.

“Then, we get promoted - hope so!

“I had to spend lot of time in the gym, I had to only watch the lads playing football outside - it was really frustrating for me.

“But now I am on the pitch, I give 100% during every session and I will keep going to fight for my place in the team.”

The 24 year old has featured in both of Wolves pre-season games so far, against Werder Bremen and Viktoria Plzen.

Żyro says that the games have been tough but it will stand the players in good stead for the start of the season.

“The first game for me was hard work because it was my first game back,” he continued.

“The second game, I was a little bit tired and the game is all about preparing us for the next stage when we come back to England and when the team will develop more.

“I feel comfortable, I feel very good and I am looking forward.

“To be fair I have missed hard running, football and being tired - I really enjoy it and it makes me feel alive and I am really happy.”
