Wolves midfielder, Jack Price, discusses his summer fitness work as the players near a return to pre-season.
The squad are currently enjoying time off following the close of the 2015/16 season.
But the hard work doesn't stop as the players are given off-season programmes to follow through the break.
Discussing the summer period, Price said: “You don’t have to do anything for the first two weeks. I had a holiday booked, it’s nice to get away, relax and take your mind of football for a day or two.
“Then we start our pre-season packs which is working on your core, with weights and other exercises.
“It’s nothing too tough, the staff just want you to return at a level where you can get fit during pre-season.
“You know if you don’t do anything then you’re going to be struggling for the first week of pre-season because that’s the toughest week.
“If you keep yourself ticking over then you come back in good enough shape anyway."
With time still to reflect on last season, the combative midfielder looked back at some of his highlights.
“Scoring the winner at MK Dons was my personal highlight," said Price before adding: "That was the best feeling ever.
“I got a lot of tweets saying that was my first proper goal.
“It was nice to hit it with my foot really. I had to pause for a second after it hit the net, I couldn’t believe I’d scored.
“I’d come close a few times this season like when I hit the post at Burnley – I thought that was going to go in.
“I said before the MK Dons game that I could feel a goal coming soon and I did the day after.
“I also enjoyed the equaliser at Burnley. We played so well that day and it felt like we weren’t going to get anything from it.
“To score so late on and celebrate at the end in front of the fans was great, you could really see the passion in the lads."
Price, however, acknowledged that Wolves weren't at their best in 2015/16 but believes the squad can learn from and build on last season.
“We struggled with injuries last season and, as a squad, you’ve got to prepare for that and build around it really," he explained.
“You’ve got to have players that, if they do need to come in, they can do just as good a job as the lads who have got injured.
“It’s just about consistency, we just didn't hit the heights that I know we can hit. We need to be able to reach that level every week."
