Conor Coady says Wolves have to look for a quick response at Brentford following a disappointing return to former club Huddersfield on Saturday.
Wolves head to Griffin Park tomorrow (7.45pm) after six Sky Bet Championship fixtures without a win, the latest in that sequence being Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Terriers.
That came as Wolves failed to take one of several second half chances at the John Smith’s Stadium as Nahki Wells’ close range 79th minute finish proved decisive.
“It was massively tough to take and a desperately disappointing result,” said Coady.
“We went to Huddersfield wanting to get something from the game and we have come away with nothing.
“I thought in the first half Huddersfield kept the ball really well and it was tough for us to stop them at times.
“We knew they wanted to pass the ball but in the second half I thought we’d stopped them playing, stopped their momentum, and we were doing well.
“We probably should have scored but it didn’t happen and we end up losing the game which is tough to take.
“We had a goal disallowed and a couple of half chances here and there.
“If I’m being honest I thought it was going to be a 0-0 game.
“Their goal was scrappy from our point of view, a lapse of concentration.
“It is what it is and we need to move on quickly now.”
And that means another game on the road where Coady believes improvement is needed both to get a result and give the away fans something to shout about.
“The fans are a massive part of this and of us going forward and we need to keep them on side,” he added.
“To make that happen we need to win games
“Everyone was down in the dressing room after the game – the chins were on the floor because you are always disappointed to lose.
“It is a situation where we know we need to put things right as soon as possible and have to start that on Tuesday.
“We need to build ourselves back up and build our confidence up.
“All of us as a club need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
“It is at times like this when you all need to stick together and it is up to us.
“You can always be better in what you do and we have got games coming thick and fast to put things right.
“For a club like Wolves the recent results are not good enough and we need to start getting some wins.”
