Although chances were created none were despatched as Wolves set an unwanted record of four consecutive goalless draws at home when they faced Rotherham at Molineux.
Following the defeat at Leeds, Kenny Jackett made four changes to his starting line-up with Joe Mason, Conor Coady, Sylvain Deslandes and Bright Enobakhare coming in for Kortney Hause and Jack Price, who were named as substitutes, and Bjorn Sigurdarson and the departed Jeremy Helan.
Deslandes played at left-back and Dominic Iorfa partnered Danny Batth in central defence.
The Millers kicked-off attacking the South Bank end and they won a third minute corner but Joe Mattock’s kick came to nothing as the referee spotted an infringement as the ball came =across.
In the eight minute James Henry slid a short through ball to Mason. He laid the ball back to Dave Edwards who swivelled and dragged his shot inches wide of the far post.
When Henry floated a free-kick into the Rotherham box, the ball was only half cleared into the path of Matt Doherty whose first time effort was both high and wide.
Grant Ward held off Deslandes’s challenge on the by-line before delivering a dangerous low cross that flashed across the face of Carl Ikeme’s goal.
Midway through the half, another free-kick from Henry was headed goalwards by Batth with Mason appearing to get a flick before the ball hit the underside of the bar. In the brief scramble that followed the referee blew for a free-kick in Rotherham’s favour.
Henry sent Mason on a run into the visitors box. The striker jinked inside a challenge and worked a shooting position for himself only for Grant Ward to block at close quarters.
Lee Camp was forced into his first real save of the afternoon as he dived to his left to comfortably claim a curling 20-yard effort from Henry.
Five minutes before the break Edwards fired wide after Doherty had headed back a Henry free-kick from wide on the right.

Seconds after the restart, a Henry corner was cleared at one end and a Greg Halford long throw at the other.
An error on the visitors back four presented Mason with a chance but his shot lacked the power to seriously trouble Camp.
Deslandes was close after Mason had flicked on a centre from Enobakhare but, as he ran in, the French defender could only divert the ball the wrong side of the post.
Ikeme made a tremendous save in the 58th minute as he pushed away a fierce hooked effort from Matt Derbyshire.
A superb through pass from Henry put Mason through on goal but Camp smothered the low shot that followed before Jed Wallace replaced Enobakhare for the final quarter of the game.
Lee Frecklington tested Ikeme from 20-yards with a low drive that the keeper managed to parry, before Rotherham survived a scramble in their own goal mouth.
Mason’s cross fell to George Saville and when his shot hit team-mate Edwards, the ball bounced to Wallace whose shot was kicked off the line by Stephen Kelly.
In the minutes that followed, Frazer Richardson replaced Mattock in the Rotherham team and Kirk Broadfoot was booked for simulation as he went down under a Batth challenge in the box.
Doherty wasn’t far over with a shot on the run from the edge of the area, and Derbyshire forced another fine save from Ikeme with a low effort from just inside the box. Seconds later the keeper dived to smother a drive from Richie Smallwood.
Halford was yellow carded for tugging at Henry’s shirt, and some good interplay between Wallace and Doherty ended with the latter sending over a good cross and Camp having to tip over a looping header form Mason.
In stoppage time, Deslandes powered a header narrowly wide after a corner from Henry - but a goal just wouldn’t come.
