Ahead of a potential Premier League debut on Saturday, Francisco Trincao believes Wolves will aim to “put on a show” with their style of play this season.
The wide man’s season-long loan from Barcelona is about to step up a notch, as the Premier League begins at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, and Trincao is feeling ready. Having previously studied England’s top flight from afar and trained with his team mates for the past month, the 21-year-old is determined to be the best version of himself in old gold this season.
On the aims for the group
“We have good footballers. We want to have the ball, to have the game in our control, to play. We want to score goals and put on a good show, of course.
“We have a great team, with a lot of talent. Young players and players with a lot of experience, so we have a really good team and I’m excited to play with them.
“We want to have a competitive team, to work hard, everyone to give their best. I expect from me, I’ll do my best and they’ll do their best for sure.”
On being ready for the Premier League
“I’m excited to play in the Premier League, in one of the best leagues in the world. I’m looking forward to seeing how it is and enjoying it. It’s my first time here, but I know what I saw on TV and the games.
“For sure it will be different [to Spain], I think we have more space to play, but the defenders will be stronger. It’s football, we have to adapt, do our best.”

On his role in the team
“I like to go one versus one, I like to try and entertain the people, to score goals, to assist to help my team mates and help the team to win. I’m looking forward to winning games here.
“I’m another player to help the team, so I’m here to do my job, to work hard every day, every training session, and to help the team.”
On bettering himself
“My biggest opponent is me. I have to do better every day, I’ll compete with me first to try to be the best version of myself, and I’ll do my best.
“I just have to be in the perfect body shape, to have the best mentality for the season, and I’ll see what I can do and do my best.”
On his friendship with Neto
“We’ve played a lot of years together and played together at Braga in Portugal. He’s a good friend of mine and a really good player, and I hope to play with him this season too, to score many goals, and assist, creating a good relationship.”
On his relationship with Lage
“It’s a good relationship. We are Portuguese, so it’s good to communicate, but it’s professional. We are here to play, to work, that’s it.”
