Traore left frustrated with defeat

Adama Traore was left frustrated as Wolves were unable to make their positive performance count in their final away Premier League clash of the season against Everton.

Richarlison’s header just after half-time secured a 1-0 win for the Toffees, and although Traore did all he could to try and take at least a point back to the Black Country with an impressive showing at Goodison Park – which housed 6,500 supporters as fans returned to the ground for the first time in 2021 – a lack of finishing touch in front of goal saw Wolves have to settle for successive top-flight defeats.

On falling short at Goodison Park

“We had the chances, but we didn’t take our chances. We kept fighting to the end, but we’re sad because we didn’t come away with anything.

“But there is still one game left of the season, and we will fight to the end.”

On not being able to take chances

“We created many chances that we needed, but it’s frustrating because we don’t finish with it going in the back of the net.

“But we know that we need to keep going, keep fighting, because this is how I think, and this is how I will keep thinking.”

On conceding another goal from a corner

“It’s frustrating because we’ve all been working so hard [on set-pieces], but like I say, we learn, and we keep moving on.”

On playing in front of supporters once again

“Of course, I enjoyed it. Football without fans is nothing.”
