Wednesday's episode of Wolves Express is an academy special as new under-21 head coach Richard Walker gives his first interview after taking over the role.
Walker was appointed Wolves’ new under-21s head coach earlier this month, stepping up from his previous role leading the club’s under-18s, where he had played an important role in the development of a number of young players coming through the system in Old Gold.
In his first interview as 21s boss, Walker talks about how pleased he is to take on the role on a permanent basis after taking temporary charge from the start of the summer and what he hopes to achieve during his time in charge.
Having made the step up from leading the club's under-18s, Walker also talks about how the skills he has learnt during his time as a player and a coach fit the role, the differences between the 18s and 21s, and how the season has been going for the development side so far this season.
Academy director Jon Hunter-Barrett also features on the podcast as he explains why he believes Walker is the right man to take the group forward and what the main focus of the job is for the former Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale defender.
