The latest episode of Wolves Express looks back on Wednesday's pre-season victory over Maidenhead United with Hugo Bueno and Leon Chiwome.
Having returned from their pre-season training camp in Portugal at the weekend, the Old Gold's first friendly open to supporters of the summer came against non-league outfit Maidenhead, with 22 members of Cesar Peixoto's squad getting minutes into their legs.
Two of those players to start the match were Wolves Academy graduates Hugo Bueno and Leon Chiwome, and it was the Spaniard who has since gone on to turn out almost 100 times for the senior side who was first up to give his thoughts post-match.
Bueno discussed the challenge the Magpies posed, despite being a sixth-tiered outfit, what it took to get pre-season off to a positive start, how the squad are working under Peixoto and why the team needs keep improving throughout the next few weeks ahead of the start of the season.
With Adam Armstrong not risked due to a minor injury and Raul Jimenez and Sasa Kalajdzic's arrivals to pre-season delayed due to the World Cup, Chiwome has been leading the line in pre-season, and the young striker discussed how it felt to be back on the pitch after injuries have disrupted his last few years and how his taste of first-team football made him determined to get back to that level.
There is also a catch up with head of women's and girls' at Wolves, Russ Fraser, who talks about his first few weeks in the job after the women's department became professional this summer and his experience of helping previous clubs transition from part-time to full-time, as well as his targets for a first season of WSL 2 football.
