Coady retains place in England squad

Conor Coady has once again been named in the England squad ahead of the October internationals.

The Wolves skipper, who signed a new five-year deal with the club on Wednesday, has retained his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad, who will reconvene next week.

Coady made an impressive England debut against Denmark in September and has been watched by Southgate and his staff during the start to the Premier League campaign.

Now, the 27-year-old will look to add to his cap when England take on Wales, Belgium and Denmark in October.

The Three Lions take on Wales in a friendly on Thursday 8th, before a Nations League double header against Leander Dendoncker’s Belgium on Sunday 11th and Denmark the following Wednesday.

Among the England youth ranks, defender Luke Matheson - who made his full gold and black debut in the under-23's 3-0 win over Stoke City on Monday - has received his first under-19 call-up.

The Young Lions kick-off their new campaign with a double header against Scotland at St George’s Park on Thursday 8th and Sunday 11th October.
