The 18-year-old signed a full-time scholarship in July 2021 and has thrived in recent years following his arrival from Port Vale.
Standing at six foot five, Storer was born in Buxton and has impressed with his shot-stopping and distribution through the thirds, while maintaining a calmness in between the sticks.
A sensational quadruple save against Manchester United last October was a standout moment for Storer, whose form for the under-18s has presented additional opportunity at under-21 level as well as experiences with the first team.

Jon Hunter-Barrett, academy manager for football, said: “We’re delighted to get this deal completed as James is highly-rated and thought of at the football club.
“He had to make a big commitment to come into the full-time programme and it was difficult for him, so he didn’t find it easy at first. However, through his perseverance and work ethic he got himself into an excellent position to earn himself this contract. We’ve seen how much his personality has developed and how much he’s grown in confidence.”
Storer’s ability to knuckle down in a competitive environment has been admirable and it’s the sort of character that leads to success and, ultimately, further opportunity at the club, as Hunter-Barrett explains.
“James has got an excellent attitude and willingness to learn and develop. Wolves is always a place of opportunity where we’re going to give young players the chance to show what they can do, whether that be in the under-18s for where James is now or in the under-21s.
“He’s also had quite a lot of opportunities to train and travel with the first team which has been great for him - we think he’s got huge potential to get through to the senior ranks.”
