Sasa Kalajdzic

Austrian international striker Sasa Kalajdzic joined Wolves in the summer of 2022 when he switched the Bundesliga for the Premier League.

The 6ft 7in striker developed in Germany, but started in his home nation, with Admira Wacker taking him from SR Donaufeld Wien as a youngster and presenting the chance to impress in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Promoted to the senior side in 2017, the striker hit 12 goals for Admira Wacker, leading to a 2019 Stuttgart transfer, which started with a cruciate ligament injury, but proved to be a successful move.

During the 2020/21 campaign, Kalajdzic bagged 16 times to finish the division’s sixth top scorer. A shoulder injury disrupted the Austrian’s progression, but he still hit six goals, including two important equalisers at Union Berlin and Bayern Munich.

Kalajdzic’s Wolves career had an unfortunate beginning, as the striker sustained a serious knee injury on his debut in gold and black, having played just 45 minutes of his first game against Southampton at Molineux.

Following his recovery, the Austrian played a part in the first half of Wolves’ 2023/24 season, scoring three times in 13 appearances for the club after netting his first in an away win at Everton.

Although an ACL tear put Kalajdzic out of action for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, he enjoyed a stellar campaign the following term, as he headed home to Austria and join LASK. During the season, his goals and assists led the team to the Austrian league and cup double, and earned the striker a spot in the national team squad for the 2026 World Cup.
