Amber Hughes shared her reaction following Wolves’ 4-2 defeat at Bristol City.
Hughes scored both to take her tally for the season to five in just six WSL 2 matches and spoke about the lessons the side will learn from the defeat.
Her initial match reaction
“We lost four two, but I think we've just said in there that we fought back second half and ended up getting back in the game a little bit, and I think we've just got to take the positives.
You know there was some positives in the game. A lot of things that we can work on. We'll have a look at in training when we go back. But yeah, a bit of a positive reflection.”
On the lessons learned
“They were a strong opposition and they were well drilled. I think we came with a game plan that we tried to execute.
“At times we didn't get it right. I think it's just a case of kind of believing in ourselves at times to, to keep with it and do what we can to keep in the game and try and create chances and try and attack as much as we can and just do what we can.”
On scoring two more goals
On a personal level, it's brilliant. I want to I want to score goals for the club, so I'll take as many goals as I can. But at the moment I'll look back at that game and reflect on what I could do elsewhere, maybe out of possession and work on those bits.”
On facing Brighton on Wednesday
“It's going to be a really tough ask. But we put ourselves in this position, we want to be playing against the best teams. So we'll look forward to it. We'll relish it, so we’ll get back in tomorrow and look at what we need to do.
