Subway Players Cup Preview | Brighton & Hove Albion

Wolves Women return to the SEAH Stadium on Wednesday night as they continue their Subway Players Cup campaign against WSL outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.

This will be Wolves' second fixture in the new look competition after a 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town before a penalty shoot-out victory. In Subway Players Cup matches, if the game finish level after 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will then take place to decide who claims an extra point.

The Opposition

One of the WSL's most established sides - and losing finalists to Manchester City in last season's Women's FA Cup - Brighton are a team packed full of top-level talent including Lionesses legend Fran Kirby, Nigeria international Chiemaka Nnadozie and Japan forward Kiko Seike, tests do not come much tougher than Wednesday night - which means we need your support!

Currently sitting 9th in the WSL after seven matches, new manager Arturo Ruiz - who joined from Spanish side Real Sociedad - has overseen league wins against Charlton Athletic and West Ham United in recent weeks.

In the Subway Players Cup they have one win and one defeat, having lost 1-0 to Spurs before winning 4-0 against Charlton.

Last Time Out

Wolves were beaten 4-2 in WSL 2 at Bristol City on Sunday, despite two brilliant goals from Amber Hughes. She opened the scoring early on before the hosts fought back to lead convincingly, before Hughes again finished with a sublime long range strike.
