Becky Anderson has admitted that it will be nice to finally go to battle with Wolves, rather than against, after completing her move from Nottingham Forest.
The experienced midfielder has been added to Dan McNamara’s squad and arrives having won the league and cup double with Forest in 2022/23. In her first interview with the club, Anderson spoke on her new challenge, words exchanged with Charlotte Greengrass and being on the other side of a battle with the Old Gold this season.
On signing for the club
“It's exciting. It's a new experience for me, a new opportunity, and one that I'm looking forward to getting started.
“I’ve had lots of battles with Wolves over the years. Playing for Forest, Wolves have always been very competitive and always been a challenger in the league.
“Speaking to Macca sort of sold it to me and in the way that I wanted it. It was a consideration for me coming over, and there wasn't really another club within the league, if I wasn't going to be at Forest, that I wanted to play for. I’m excited to get started.”
On speaking with Charlotte Greengrass
“She came over a few weeks before me so I was asking her a lot of questions once she was here and getting settled to see what things were like.
“It was nothing that I didn't expect. I had a good idea of what I would be coming into in terms of the environment, the squad, the management. It was just sort of reassuring for me to hear good things from Char and it enticed me to come myself.”

On what she will bring to the group
“ I think experience. I've been around the game and the league a long time, so on and off the pitch, experience.
“There’s girls in the dressing room now that have got experience themselves. They've won the league before, so I want to add to that.
“On the field, I'm quite a calm and composed player, so I hope to bring that to the team on a match day. 100% hard work and commitment from me every week.”
On her previous battles with Wolves
“It was probably the biggest factor in me signing here - looking back on those fixtures and how competitive they were.
“We had some big rivalries over the seasons and always run close with the league. Some of the players now that I get to be in the dressing room with, I'm happy that I'm in the dressing room with them rather than against them.
“It’s been great over the years and now it will be a little bit different for me to see it from the other side now.”
On her ambitions for the season
“I just want to give it my best. You'll always get 100% commitment and hard work from me. I support the team as much as I can.
“I want to be fit, available and ready for selection, and do what's needed for the team or what's instructed by the management.”
