Wolves Women have bolstered their midfield ranks with the signing of Brooke Cairns on a short-term deal.
Cairns, 20, arrives at Molineux having departed West Ham United at the end of last season and previously played for Everton and Liverpool before signing for the Hammers in August 2021.
The midfielder has played in the Women’s Super League for West Ham, while also featuring for Hashtag United and Ipswich Town on loan in the last couple of seasons.
Cairns also has experience internationally having been capped by England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level.
The former Young Lion will be the latest to pull on the Old Gold and has been allocated the shirt number 24 ahead of this afternoon’s Black Country derby at West Bromwich Albion.
Manager Dan McNamara said: “Brooke’s joining us at a really good time. She’s an outstanding young football player who has been training with Liverpool to keep herself fit.
“She left West Ham in the summer and at the minute, due to a couple of injuries, it works for both parties.
“We needed a little bit of cover in that central area and Brooke wants to get some game time in. It worked both ways and thankfully we’ve managed to get it done.
“Even if we can play a small part in Brooke’s journey while she helps us out in this tough moment, then we’ll all be happy and we can go from there.”
