Young Players Signed

Wolves are delighted to have signed young midfielder Ming-yang Yang, who will initially work in the Under-23 squad under Scott Sellars.

Born in Switzerland of Chinese descent. Yang has played for several clubs in Switzerland, primarily Lausanne-Sport but most recently, FC Winterthur.

A right-footed midfielder, the 22-year old has previously represented Switzerland through the junior ranks up to Under-20 level.

He has joined for an undisclosed fee from FC Winterthur and put pen to paper on a three year deal prior to last night’s closure of the transfer window.

“I am really excited,” said Yang.

“It is a big club in England and it is a great chance for me to come here and progress and hopefully then get a chance to play and help the team.

“I have dreamt of playing in England many times and it has the biggest league in the world.

“It is good that I am coming to a club with Chinese owners and maybe that plays a role for me as well.

“I am just really excited to get started.

“I go back to Switzerland for the weekend and then I come back on Monday and I am really looking forward to it.”

* Wolves are also delighted to announce the signing of Jose Nuno Rodrigues Xavier from the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

The 20-year-old striker has signed until the end of this season with an option of a further year.

The former Portuguese Under 16 international will also link up with Sellars’ Under 23s squad to compete in Premier League 2.

Wolves Under 23s next fixture is against Stoke City at the Bet 365 Stadium on Sunday 10th September.
