Mosquera | 'It feels so good to be back again'

Yerson Mosquera was pleased to have helped Wolves to victory and a clean sheet in his first start since returning from injury, having spent the best part of the last three months on the sidelines.

After recovering from the MCL injury which had put him out of action since the opening day's clash with Blackburn Rovers, the defender stepped in for Nasser Djiga, who was himself missing from last weekend’s Championship win over Watford due to a groin issue, and provided a steady hand on the tiller to ensure the hosts were not to concede.

Although he wasn’t massively tested by Watford’s attacking line, Mosquera was delighted with the three points, although knows that the team still needs to improve at both ends of the pitch if they are to make it four games unbeaten when Cardiff City pay a visit to Molineux this Saturday.

On three points last weekend

“It was a great win. We know the game is not easy, but we still have to improve a little bit more and push a little bit more as well. But when we had to defend, we defended well, we defended with spirit, and I think that was really important.

“But it’s also really important to score more goals. We have the next week to work on that because it's really important. Goals can give you something, and I believe in everyone.

“The strikers are really good and work hard every day and I think we did better in this game, and we will try to score a few more goals.”

On Armstrong getting back on the scoresheet

“I’m really happy for him because I know how hard he works and how much he wants to score and now he has the chance to keep going.

“When you work hard, the rewards will come, and it’s really important to support him and push him to score more goals.”

On returning from injury

“It feels so good to be back again. It was really hard because I want to play every game, but these things can happen to anyone. I’ve had a few injuries in the past, but this time, it was a shorter period out, so I had time to recover.

“The important thing is that it happened in the first match, so I had more time to recover. I tried to prepare myself and stay ready for this opportunity to help Wolves. I know Nasser [Djiga] is doing well, as are Krejci and Toti, so I have to keep working to stay close to their level.

“Now I’m ready to play, but I have to keep going, keep working a little bit more and stay ready for the next game, whenever the coach needs me.”

On having a full week of training

“We haven’t had much time to prepare for games, but we are professionals and try to recover as much as we can. We have to stay ready for everything because everyone is really important to the coach, and the most important thing is that he trusts everyone.

“When somebody gets the chance to play, everyone is ready, and that shows how you prepare during the week, and that's really important.

“Everyone is working hard and doing well. I had to wait for my moment and be ready when they need me, but the most important thing is that the team is picking up points and playing well, so I'll wait for my moment, like I did against Watford, and then do it for the team.”
